VPN could conceal this
IRCC has ways around this and can figure out the subnets. But of course you're choice if you want to commit misrepresentation and risk a refusal / ban.

How they know whether or not you're in Canada?
Seriously ?

I work on a secure computer system . If I log in from outside Canada an alert goes immediately to my companies IT department, and I’m shut down immediately. And it’s grounds for immediate termination of employment. I’m positive the Federal Government has a comparable systems to deal with individuals on the “ take “

Why, is the question, do individuals always want to find ways to circumvent the rules set out? It’s like continuous, non stop . Jesus, just follow the bloody rules . It’s like dealing with children . Jesus H Christ

I'd be taking the Oath on my own computer, not a Government of Canada computer, so not really sure at all how this applies...

What ways would those be?
Given the anonymity on the forum, it will be rather simple to claim "I took oath outside Canada". There can be no evidence for or against that claim.
Since the proof of the pudding is in the eating, keep us posted on how it goes :)
wut. I’m not even in the path stage and don’t plan to take it outside Canada. I’m merely interested in how they know, as I work in this field

I'm not interested in providing further details since the topic of this conversation is about circumventing immigration law.

related question, if he had a valid Indian passport, did the ceremony, got the citrizenship certificate, and then travelled, can he enter Canada with the citizenship certificate?
