Hello all,

A quick question.. If I work at Canadian companies such as Scotia Bank, TD bank branches located in Korea would I be qualified for the PR requirement below?:

  • an employee of (or under contract to) a Canadian business.
And... how about public sector like Canadian Chamber of Commerce based in Korea?

an employee of (or under contract to) the public service of Canada or a province and you are on a full-time assignment to:
  • a position outside Canada,
  • a partner business outside Canada, or
  • a client of the Canadian business or the public service outside Canada.
Thank you!!!

Answer is no unless you were working full time for an employer in Canada who then sent you on an international temporary full time assignment to Korea working for same employer. Note that if qualifying then these days only count towards PR obligation and not citizenship

Edited update : Section 2 applies
