Sorry if this has already been discussed ad nauseam, but only Outland applicants are entitled to land via flagpolling at a land border, correct?

If so, I guess that means that I will need to add (up to 4 months) to the processing time as I hear that the Vancouver CIC office can take a long time to schedule a landing interview.

11 months + 8 months + 4 months before PR??

Would it be possible for me to have the landing interview anyplace other than Vancouver?

Thanks,

I understand from previous threads that for inland, your COPR is given to you at the landing interview, not sent by mail.

That is corrent, Ponga. You can NOT flagpole as you will not even see your COPR until you have your landing appointment. You can not land somewhere else. They will send your file and paperwork to your local office where you live and that is where you will land. I know it sounds like it is going to take forever, but based on what happened to the 2012 applicants, and the current trend for the 2013, most, if not all are AIP/OWP/DM within 12 months. There is not saying that won't change, but thus far, it has been the going trend.

Now, the landing letters are something different. Each office runs differently, so that is another matter. There are lots of 'complaints' about Vancouver being so slow, so if I were you, after I got my DM, I would start calling them every 2 weeks or so to check on the 'status' of whether a landing letter had been issued. It seems to kind of keep them reminded you are waiting, if you know what I mean ;)

Thank you both!

While I will refrain from complaining about the possible extra delay with the Vancouver office, publicly...I can't guarantee that I will keep my mouth shut while sitting around waiting at home...privately. :D

I'm very grateful for the Inland process and I do publicly thank Canada for the opportunity.
