My husband and I were just married in the US about a month ago. Since that time I am currently living in Canada. I don't think this is completely legal. I cannot work and this is becoming a problem. He is a Canadian citizen and I am US citizen. I have my passport and I have no criminal record. Can someone please offer advice or tell me where to start as far as getting a visa or where I can at least find the forms? My husband and I have no idea what needs to be done and I don't want either of us to get into trouble or worse deported.

Start at http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/sponsor/index.asp

There are two ways to sponsor a spouse, outland and inland. With outland, you opt to have your file processed in the US. It gets you the actual PR faster and you can travel. With inland, you would first get a work permit, PR later and you are adviced not to travel. Send good proof of your relationship. If you opt for inland, send the application for open work permit as well as extension of visit status with the application. If you apply outland, your processing might be done before you need a visit status extension but if it isn't, you can apply for one.
