My hubby just mailed my application on last Saturday (15 sept), but he choose the cheap postage fee that take 5 days (21 sept) to deliver my application to cic, compare with the expensive one that will only take 2 days (18 sept) to sent my application to cic.

I have a question, is that mean my application would be delay for 132days (44 days in progress 1 x 3 days) on the working on application from cic? :'( :'( :'( .....so sadddddddddd

Remark:
44 days - step 1, assessment of sponsor
3 days - the diff between 21 sept to 18 sept

Plz calm down.... u r just at the start of the process.... u have a long long way to go still.... if ur gonna b this anxious from the start ur gonna have a really hard time ahead.... so a couple of days here n there won't make a big difference...

They say its 5 days but thats UPTO 5 days.... mail within Canada takes more like 2-3 days... the only difference with the express one is u get a tracking number... so don't stress they have ur application... if u have n e doubts call CIC help desk n ask.... n there's no guarantee they will complete step 1 in 44 days.... mine took much longer than that....

so just hang in there.... do b too hard on urself or ur husband... stay strong n supportive for each other cuz its gonna get much much tougher n its definitely gonna take a toll on ur relationship

How the application is mailed won't make much difference. In your case, at the most 3 days. If your application is complete and all documents are in accordance with the requirements, you are likely to get Step 1 approval within the time specified (about 45 days).

If there is any delay, it won't be due to the reason that your hubby mailed it by regular post. So don't be hard on your hubby for that.

My application has been delivered to CIC's P.O. box on Nov 21, 2014. But I used June 2014 version of IMM0008, hopefully CIC won't ask me to send them a new version (Nov 2014) of that form!! :'( :'(

This is my comment in another thread

In regards to the IMM 0008 form update: I called CIC and they say it shouldn't be a problem and most probably they will just process using the old form and it would "time consuming" to send an updated form at this point without them requesting.

I think we are better off waiting till they request it - which they might not

Trust me. Don't worry or count the days (easier said than done I know). It'll just make the time go slower. It's going to take some time unfortunately. Just be prompt and thorough when responding to requests for things if they arise (more forms, etc.) that's about all you can do. Much of it is out of your control.
