I'm Indian, studied diploma in computer engineering (3 years)..
I'm trying to immigrate to Canada for a long time.. with out a degree, it might be difficult for me through express entry.
So i tried jobs with work permit visa, still its difficult to get one in my IT field..
Now there is a job as "PACKER" in a Textile company in Montreal which i can get, which is a 2 years visa
My Questions are

1. As staying in Canada,is it be easy for me to get job in my field and work permit changed ? or it is same as trying from India ? (before 2 years)
2. After 2 years visa expired, if the employer not interested to sponsor me again, what all i can do to continue stay and work in Canada. is there chances for me to apply PR

1) It probably won't be much different than trying from India. In order for an employer in the IT field to hire you, then need to get an approved LMIA. Most employers unfortunately aren't willing to go through this process.
2) If you want to stay in Canada and work, you'll need to find a new employer who is willing to give you a full time job offer and who can also obtain an approved LMIA.

Unfortunately a job as a "packer" won't count as a job offer under Express Entry and won't get you extra points for the process. In order to get 600 job offer points under Express Entry, the job needs to be NOC A, B or 0.

As scylla already answered your questions which are to Obtain LMIA and one more thing i would like to add as you are here It will be easier to find a job , Why? Because being in Canada will give chance to interact with employer personally eg : interview, sometimes even call, I have done same thing and I am also from India. Hope that helps ...good luck ;) :)

I am not sure how one would obtain an LMIA as a "PACKER". Are there no Canadians who could fill the position? Are you 100% sure that this is not a scam?
