I applied for my visa on 20th June and the estimated processing from my country is 5 weeks
Just crossed the 5th week, should I bother filing a case-specific inquiry? Or emailing High Commission in Delhi where my visa work is done? My medicals were approved and updated on the GIC portal on July 4th, I had done my biometrics on July 6th but only it only appeared as complete like 2 days ago.

As they mentioned, the processing will start while you submit your biometrics.
""
You may need to give biometrics with your application.
This processing time doesn’t include:
  • the time it takes to send an application between a VAC and our office
  • the time you need to give your biometrics """"
I think you need to wait. I am in the same condition with you, I have submitted my biometrics on 21 June and still, I have not received anything from them.

Oh okay I thought they started to process after you submit the online application :( guess not.

"For visitor visa, study or work permit applicants:

  • The time it takes you to give your biometrics isn’t included in the application processing time."

Non-SDS from India is 60 days, not 5 weeks? Though I got mine in under 45 days even with non-SDS.

I am applying from Bhutan. The processing time on the website from my country says 5 weeks. But since we have no Canadian embassy here all the visa work is being done in New Delhi.

Did you apply with upfront medical or you were requested for a medical?

I did an upfront medical (which was a mistake), because the system could not read the hospital generated number and so I was requested to do one anyway. I asked the Physician to change the hospital generated number on the e-medical form to my UCI number. And it showed as medical complete in a few days.

My bad. Funny how Bhutan has less processing time than India when it's processed in...India :P

I had a similar issue, where I had done an upfront medical and although it got linked to my online profile after a few days, it dissapeared and I was requested to do a medical. But Clinics don't do medical on top of another medical so I submitted a webform to IRCC and they eventually linked my current medical.. So if you got a medical request, that means it's some sort of positive sign (that's what I have read online)

Also it depends when you were requested your medical. People have commented that usually within 1-3 weeks you can get a response (but yet again varies case to case)

I hope so.. But my medical was approved weeks ago. Also my biometrics just showed as complete a few days ago so hope this is a good sign..What is your timeline?

Well I have applied from Pakistan (processing time is 8 weeks)
Applied on June 21
Upfront medical June 12
Linked app on June 25
Medical request July 7
Medical passed July 14
Still waiting,,, All it says is reviewing eligibility and background check..
Also for my biometrics, it says not required but on top right of the online account, it mentions my enrollment number, issue and expiry date since I submitted an offline application...

Maybe that's a positive sign. Hopefully next week you hear something, but if you don't , just submit an IRCC webform, it doesn't hurt...
