Hi
Contrats to those who got Passport Requests.
I'm new to this forum. I'm a pre-June applicant (Sydney-Australia VO) & got passport request on 14th Sep. I sent my passport the next day but haven't got back yet. In their letter it was stated that the visa processing time is 5-10 working days. The problem is my passport expires in a couple of months and I'm worried about the delay (3 weeks). No phone inquiries permitted in this VO. Does anyone know the visa processing time? Can anyone advise me please? :-\

i guess the passport should be atleast 6 months valid right? anyways, send them a fax about your problem and hope for the best. don't send email, they least bother to notice or reply.

Wanted to share one info I came across. I was going thru the thread of 2013 FSWC wannabe applicants. Some of them have written that next year, every visa office will also have application quota. In MI-2 and MI-3 more than 50% of applications have gone from India and Pakistan and since there is first come first serve basis, people from other countries could not get thru because of the application CAP.

In order to have an even distribution, within the overall cap of applications, every VISA office will also have a cap. Does anyone else out here have any idea about the same?

If that happens, we shall have the advantage. It is because of large number of pending applications from MI-2 and MI-3 from NDVO that we are at a loss right now

finally i got my passport with visa......

That was interesting, since i was waiting for more than 2 years (march 2010 applicant, Moscow VO). I was hoping to get med request in nov-dec 2012 and get visa in mid 2013, but strangely all things gor extremely fast. On 25 august i got my med request. Sent them back on sep 06. IOM office told me to wait 3-4 months for med results but i got confirmation and passport request in 3 weeks, ie 27 sept..... I sent them my passport on oct 07. Again, IOM office advised me to wait 3-4 weeks, but yesterday I received my passport with visa thein....

Very fast indeed (last several steps o'coz)..... This means that they are very quick when they want, and we were waiting so long only becoz we were not "planned" before))

Dear Sir / Madam,
BELOW THE REPLY RECEIVED TO CSQ BY A SINGAPORE VISA OFFICE APPLICANT

RE: E0000xxxxx (Bxxxxxxxxx) / glw

Thank you for your enquiry to the Immigration Section of the High Commission of Canada in Singapore.

We are pleased to advise you that your application has been assessed, and that you have been determined to meet the eligibility requirements of the Federal Skilled Worker category.

As you may already be aware, changes to immigration law in 2008 allow Citizenship & Immigration Canada (CIC) to set, through Ministerial Instructions, the number and type of applications considered for processing each year, and the order in which these applications will be processed. You may wish to consult this page for more information on the Ministerial Instructions: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/mi/index.asp

Your application was determined to be eligible under the first set of Ministerial Instructions, as it was received between February 28, 2008 and June 25, 2010. A second set of Ministerial Instructions applies to applications received between June 26, 2010 and June 30, 2011. Processing priority is now being given to Skilled Worker applications that meet the eligibility criteria in a third set of Ministerial Instructions, for applications received from July 1, 2011.

The number of Federal Skilled Worker applications approved by the Singapore visa office has exceeded the visa target we have been allocated for this category under Canada's annual Immigration Levels Plan. We are carefully managing the finalization of applications to ensure that the applicants with skills and work experience that meet current labour market needs - i.e. those who applied under the most recent set of Ministerial Instructions - are issued visas on a priority basis. For applications received under earlier sets of Ministerial Instructions, we will proceed with the final steps of processing (e.g. medical examination, statutory checks) only when we have sufficient target space to be able to issue visas in the coming year.

Applications received under the first set of Ministerial instructions will be processed to finalization on the basis of when they were received. Applicants who applied earlier (from February 27, 2008 onward) will be contacted before those who applied later (up to June 25, 2010). When we are ready to continue processing your application, we will contact you with instructions. Until then, the only information you are required to provide to our office is:

- Change of address or contact information, including email address
- Marriage, birth, or death in the applicant's immediate family
- Request to withdraw the application and refund the application fees
- Submission of an Arranged Employment Opinion approved by Human Resources and Social Development Canada
- Change to the applicant's representation (to engage, change, or revoke a paid representative, the form IMM 5476 Use of a Representative must be completed and signed by the applicant, then sent to our office)

In all correspondence with our office, remember to quote the applicant's file number, full name and date of birth.

We hope this information will be of assistance.

Sincerely,

Dear All,
I am happy to read the answer as I feel that our cases will be treated just like Applicants who applied before Feb 2008. We dont know will they consider our application or return files after keeping it wait for 5-6 years from now. I had decided to start searching other options and never suggest anyone for CANADA as they are not stable minded. Australian Governemnt is better than them as they still thingking for people who went on student visa before 2008. Hope they just not play with us .

Medical received yesterday evening. Finally. It was a long await. Thanks to allah.
