it was just 2 tests, took an hour, and they emailed the next day itself.. n it was like 1/4th price of the previous one too..
But how long did it take for CIC to "receive" it in ECAS?

Hi all,

Do you guys know if someone from a non-visa exempt country can LAND through Niagara/US border if they do not have a valid US visit visa? How does that work (I've heard of the 'flag-poling' -- does that still happen)? What's the procedure for that?

OR would you recommend getting the inland landing (at CIC office) instead?

Thanks a lot.

You do not need an US visa in order to land at the Niagara border. I don't know anything about the "flag-poling". I just landed at Niagara on Feb 6th.

There is a bridge on the river which connects US and Canada. You can walk on that bridge, just follow the sign "pedestrian to U.S.A". When you get to the US custom, you tell the US officer that you are there for "landing", they will understand it and give you a white paper then tell you to go back.

Take that paper and walk back to Canada side, show the white paper and tell the Canadian officer you are there for "landing", then he will give you a yellow paper and tell you to go to an office on your right-hand side. That's the final place you can get everything done. Just wait for them to call your name, fill out some paperwork and that's it. Landing done!

In terms of the "in-city landing", I posted the same question a couple of weeks ago, and someone said that "in city landing" takes a long time to book an appointment. Most people go to Niagara fall since the custom opens 24 hrs a day and 7 days a week, so you can go there at anytime you want.

Hope this helps.

Hello members;
I received PPR last week and I need to change visa office for my spouse for visa printing. My confusion is "Can I send email to CIC about change of visa office from my email account or through my representative's email account?" My lawyer is very lazy and delaying this work.

Please advise me guys....

Rainbow bridge.

Make sure to bring 2 quarters(50 cents). You will them to open the door so that you can go onto the bridge(just like you put the token inside the machine in the subway station). Bring driver's licence as well, because the officer will confirm your mailing address.

You can also bring the bank statement, T4, NOA, etc.... just in case they ask for that. Normally they won't. They didn't ask me to show anything. The officer is actually very nice.

Of course do not forget the passport and confirmation of landing!
