Did you see any ECAS Status like "we started processing your application ***".
If yes, when did you see that ?

I have got reply from MP today and they said that Criminality is in progress and Security not started. Not sure how long do they take for clearance of Criminality. More than 14 months since i drop my apllication to CIC.

Criminality doesn't take that long, just a few months. (it seems they give the same generic answers to MPs as well)

Criminality in progress at this time means it could be already passed by responsible government organization, but CIC officer did not pick your application for next stage processing to update it in GCMS.
or they could really start that very late (for people who PPC was requested).. which is hard to believe.
As soon as you see the line "we started processing your application" in ECAS, they will update it to pass in GCMS.

don't worry just be patience I'm December applicant
I'm December 2013 applicant and just received medical request on 8 August 2015
finally after a long wait received medical request

Applied Dec 17 2013 CEC category
AOR : Feb 6th 2014

Requested T4 on Dec 2014 and submitted in December 2014
Medical request 7th aug 2015
Medical done on 8 August

Anyone knows is better to pay upfront RPRF or just wait for for cic to reply

Criminality has been in progress for over a year now. Just took another look at my notes:
Type: Criminality
Status: In progress
Status Updated Date: 2014/07/31

Which means it has been in progress since AOR...

Just a reminder in case some 1st review people missed reading posts during the weekend, a letter to the immigration minister was posted on page 194. Please send it if you're interested. We may not hear anything from them but that doesn't matter. We try what we can. Thanks.

p.s. Not only June people getting upset now. Aug-Oct people start filing petitions too if you've seen that. Except the lucky ones, becoming a victim under such a system is inevitable for most people.

As per the spread sheet only three applicants from first review got ppr till now.

Since we have submitted our applications an year ago, most of our PPCs must have already been expired. Hopefully, CIC may not ask for a new pcc. But in worst case scenario, in-case if cic ask us for pcc again, I was just thinking, are they going to start our criminality & security checks all the way from the beginning. This wait is really killing me....

The day i got my MR next day in the ECAS 2nd line added " we started working on your application" within 2 days i got RPRF and then after a week CIC sends RCMP request saying its expired. so RCMP is valid for 1 year. now i see 3rd line in ECAS "we have send document request please send that document ASAP to process your application".

i told all the above story just for your information that there is no definite time frame. its all depends case by case basis. I was expecting PPR but got RCMP request now until i submit that i can't hope for PPR.

Received Ready for Visa email yesterday
Here is my timeline:
2014 June 15 Filled application
2014 Aug 1 application received
2015 June 16 started processing
2015 June 17 ME email
2015 June 20 PRPF

I've got one question: CIC asked me to mail passport to the CPC. But I'm currently outside Canada/US. Can I inform them to make arrangement to have the visa issued at a local office? Or it is better to mail it directly to CPC from the place I stay in?

Congratulations on PPR. Reply to the CIC email giving the details of the place you stay and requesting them to change the visa office to that country. I was also like you, I am in India and requested them to change visa office. I received reply in one week with the change of visa office.
