Guys I just called the call centre guys and they that's an automated message.Know what they are actually working on may 26 applications right now . Damn...!
 
can someone please tell us what do all these abbreviations mean? NER, PER, RBVO, etc.. for the sake of forum members, especially the new ones? And if possible, how much time does each step take...

PER: Positive Eligibilty Review (u get this after CIO reviews application, then forwarded to visa office for further processing)
NER: Negative Eligibility Review (means rejection)
RBVO: Received by Visa Office (after Centralised Intake Office forwards file to VO)

When I received my PER on 11/8 I checked my e-cas and it was showing application received.
Now when I check it is showing "We reviewed your application and sent you a letter on August 11, 2011. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us. "

What does this mean? and shall I expect a letter via post to my address?

No. The 'letter' was the e-mail they sent you. Depending on your VO, you will get Acknowledgement of Receipt (AOR) from your visa office thru snail in a couple of months...Mandie

Hi Guys and Gals,

Congrats to DeveperBR and Jmora. My application was received on the 16th June and I sent an inquiry mail on the status of my application on the 5th of August. I got a response today with an application nos and a message saying my file is currently awaiting assessment. Still having my fingers crossed though

Wishing all PER or a step ahead week

maybe you'll receive it tomorrow? As my application was received by them on June 15.

Congrats on your PER! I knew you were a little tense due to the transcripts not in a sealed envelope right? Looks like that didn't matter. Good Luck on the rest of your journey. Good luck to everyone else, myself included, waiting on our PER.

You're right. I was very worried about the transcripts not being sealed.. Turns that I got PER anyways. :-)
