Hey buddy,
There is something called 'dual intent' which prevents officers to reject your application (either in TRV or PR) based on your other intent. You may search CIC website for 'dual intent' and you will see they do not mix your two requests, based on the law. One of the pages: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/study/institutions/intent.asp clearly explains it.

I suggest you apply, because who knows the final decision on your PR when it will be (and God Forbid, I bite my tongue, if it leads to positive outcome). But remember, on the other hand if you go as a resident you pay almost 30% of foreign student, so on the other hand it will not be bad also if you postpone your admission to next year.

I am going to send an email this Tuesday. I am on the same time line of yours. It is already 6 weeks passed but to be on the safe side (considering holidays, etc.) Aug 16 looks ok (after 48 days). If I get a reply then you may inquire for the second time. And who knows we may get our PER by the time CIO-S replies :D

I opened my email to send an inquiry to CIC about receipt of my application. I typed my email with all the details and I am about to hit the send button. At this very same moment I receive email from CIC confirming receipt of my application package !!!! what a coincidence!!

for those who want my details

package sent on 9/6
package received in Canada on 13/6
DD enchased on 23/6

Finally I got my PER.

Dear Senior,

I am a telecom consultant working in dubai, UAE.
I have applied for Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) after getting sponsorship from a canadian recruiting company. M NOC is 9990.7.

i have submitted my complete package on 13th june along with Demand Draft of 450$, However i have not received any feedback even after 8 weeks (where as on wen they say a time frame of 7 weeks).

Now i urgently need my passport back (since i have sent my original PP along with other documents( as per instruction from my Representative). My representative is saying that only way to request the passport is by sending them an email.

I have requsted the canadian immigration in Abu Dhabi using email to send me back my passport since i have a business committment, however even after 10 days i have not received any feedback.

Can someone please help me as how to receive my passport urgently.

well.....why u have sent orignal passport when its not required . n its mentioned clearly that only photocopies showing name dob etc etc....are required. as cic is always busy with bulk of immigration applications especially in year closing u have to wait for a month or two.email them n tell ur urgency. they will reply u about convenient solution....regards.

Can you tell us which TRV you applied? If it is for Work Permit and you got job offer, then you should have provided LMO (Labour Market Opinion) from HRSDC / Service Canada. Plus never I heard that you sent your passport at the begining of your application.
Is that a lawyer or consultant that put you in such a situation?
My suggestion is to go in person definitely, because embassies and consulates of Canada do not use courier for applicant and they do not sent your passport with courier unless you submited the postal fee, I were in you shoe I would have gone in person.

My IELTS expires on December/2011.

What if I get a NER in the comming weeks, and they send my package back and it arrives here at November.

Then, if I quickly send it back, must arrive there still in November.


My question: IELTS must be valid uppon CIO evaluation, VISA evaluation or by the date I send my application??

Thanks in advance!! I need this information, because maybe I'll need to get another IELTS by then.. :'( :'(

NOW cio accept IELTS for two year...........is your IELTs is expiring after two year in December 2011?????

I took it in December/2010. Can't remeber if the IELTS has an expiry date written in it or it was something I read at CIO website...

That means my IELTS is valid to CIO until December/2012 ?? That would be a little relief...

So no need to worry..........i try to share links where you can read that now IELTS is acceptable for two year from the date of issue........first it was for One year...............and developer why you are so disappointed still your date has to come i think at 15th August.........and you are FSW2 and me toooo, i have really hopes for you then for me..........you are my strenght but you are breaking my heart tooo. please pray for the best........
