My husband’s expires on October 23rd. They don’t even try to finish the application before it expires.
I spoke with my MP office today and they told me that background and eligibility has been started, but not security and they will likely request an interview from my husband. I was hoping we didn’t have to do one, I’m nervous. Can you tell me what kind of questions they asked your husband?
Also, IRCC mentioned that requesting GCMS notes delays your file.
My husband's medical is expiring on October 31st but they requested another medical yesterday.
I was really nervous about the interview too. The questions that they asked were:
● who proposed to who
● when was the first time we were intimate
● Name of school our daughter attends
● Where we would live when he comes
● If he didn't get through what would be our plans
● What work he intends to do when he comes to Canada
Just a little background into our situation... We have been married for almost 13 years now. When we first got married I sponsored my husband, we went through the process, they called him for an interview and then denied the visa because they said they didnt believe our relationship was genuine. The first visa officer was very rude and didnt know how to talk to people. We appealed and lost our appeal. The whole process we finished thousands of dollars with the sponsorship and lawyer for the appeal. After we lost the appeal I went back to live with my husband in our home country and after a year I became pregnant and came back and had our daughter in Canada. Then covid hit and I remained in Canada with our daughter. I traveled a lot to see my husband during that time. Fast forward to July 2024 we decided to give it another try at sponsoring him. We just made a decision together that whatever the outcome this time we would make it work. If he got through that would be great, if he didnt I would just go back and live there with him. Its been a long journey with this immigration situation but we won't let that break us. We've been together for over 20 years, we were high school sweethearts. This immigration process has tested us, we've had our highs and lows but I think it has made us even stronger.
I just want to encourage you to be strong, everything will be ok. I know its hard right now and it feels like you're on a never ending rollercoaster but just hang in there. Go over everything about your relationship with your husband to prepare for the interview. Start with how you first met and continue. Make sure you have a plan for what you will do when you get to Canada and also a plan if he doesn't get approved because sometimes they ask you questions about that too. They just want to make sure your relationship is genuine because two people who love each other will always find a way to be together no matter the situation.
Must let me know if he gets an interview request and feel free to ask any questions you may have.
