Today? This will take months to resettle them in Canada and process their documents. More delays are coming our ways
Yes @CaBeaver . Check the article.

And all of us waiting again.

I read the news before. You said CIC got busy today, but they will be busy for months ahead, not just today
Sorry for sarcasm. Busy doing anything but our applications

OK, so you were sarcastic. Didn't get that
It is stressful to read articles lile this.

CIC will not hire people just for this specific program. They will just pile more stuff with high priority on officer's desks.

Good for this people…but wait until they have to find a decent job, get approval on their permanent residency or even worst, apply for citizenship. They will want to run away from Canada.
I don't think that they will want to run away from Canada that quickly. They are coming to Canada because they helped the Canadian Military during their time over there. Now that all Western forces have been pulled out of Afghanistan these helpers will be killed for helping our troops. How many of us on here have risked our and our family's lives in support of Canada?

I want to start off by saying that I have been following this timeline for a while now and I appreciate the frustration that everyone is having regarding their citizenship application and the delays/intransparency of IRCC regarding the delays due to COVID-19. However, saying that I find it interesting that people are condemning the very country that they want to be citizens of. We have all chosen to come to Canada as it is a country that offers many opportunities and freedoms that are not available in many of our countries. Furthermore, Canada is a country that has opened itself to all of us, allowing us to come here and make a better life for ourselves (and children if applicable). There is no intrinsic de juris entitlement for us to be here. We chose to come here and through our application, were chosen to be able to live in this country. Canada owes us nothing. It is these type of feelings of entitlement that give way to people not wanting immigration as they feel people come here and "expect" everything.

Hi

I think u missed a point what @novascotia27 said.

Nobody is complaining about Canada, life here, culture or anything. Yes people get frustrated over timelines and that they are getting bigger.

I do not want to get political but...we are pay tax. U said Canada does not owe use anything, why does Canada prioritize everybody but spouse sponsorship and citizenship applications?

I don't think you are getting my point. I understand that people are frustrated with wait times that are getting longer, however to say people will want to "run" away is ludicrous. It is just a statement that seems to indicate that people will want to run away when they don't get what they want when they want it. We are all permanent residents of this country with all the benefits of Canadian citizens except the ability for some high level government jobs and the ability to hold a Canadian passport, so if it takes a little longer for a citizenship application, what difference does it make? As to why Canada prioritizes others but not spousal sponsorships, I do not know but citizenship applications are probably not a priority as we are all here and have 99% of benefits of citizenship already. Yes, we pay taxes but so does everyone so what is your point? It is the sense of entitlement that I am saying is disgraceful not the frustration about wait times.

I don't know which country you are from, but in a democracy like Canada, criticizing inefficient bureaucracy is not the same as 'condemning the nation'.
