In the last couple of hours, I heard two of my friends got the Oath ceremony invite, both are early 2020 applicants.

Hopefully we get ours soon.

Does anyone know at what step we should surrender/ renounce our current passport? (For countries that doesn't support dual citizenship)

Appreciate any guidance.

Good luck everyone :)

I am waiting for FP request as per ircc I should recieve it soon but still no email. How much is this going to delay my process?
If background check is not completed, i do not think your file is at local office

really depends on file, applied as a family my BG is complete but my wife's BG still in progress and she received a FP. Last time I checked my file was in Edmonton office already and I will assumed her file too as we applied as a family.

That would depend on your current citizenship. Some automatically consider you to have renounced when you take up the second one. Others have a specific process in place. You may wish to contact your country's embassy or consulate directly. Congrats on your Canadian Citizenship.

I am sure that's a question many of us including me are asking. There's zero logic behind how IRCC processes applications - at least from an outsiders point of view.
Just have patience is all I can say.

Yes, same here, everything is in-progress. I called IRCC to get an update. The agent said my file is transferred to the local office (Calgary). She had no other update on file.
But, I don’t see Calgary office processing any files at the moment. There’s no moment on any threads for Calgary office.
That staff also mentioned there is only 25% staff working at all IRCC offices, and the call center is working from home.

What if Background check is Complete, my application is still in process..
I think at present they are sending test invites to January or Feb 2020 applicants.
July people have to a wait for a while!
