Starting a thread for all who have submitted a Proof of Citizenship application in July 2019.

So far my progress is as follows:

09JUL2019 Mailed in application from US
15JUL2019 Received in Sydney NS per USPS
17JUL2019 Official receipt by IRCC
19SEP2019 Acknowledgement of Receipt (AOR)

In December 2019, I submitted a web enquiry because it appeared my 5 months was up. I received a response that my application is in queue and if they need info or a decision was made I'd be contacted.

I'm applying for the first time for 1st generation citizenship by descent with normal processing.

So far, no further contact, so from what I've learned on this website that may be good news.

I'm wondering how others are faring.

Thanks!

25SEP2019 - Application submitted at the Canadian Embassy in Vienna
15OCT2019 - Official receipt as per IRCC
14JAN2020 - Acknowledgement of Receipt (AOR)

I submitted an application for my newborn daughter and I am actually horrified by the slowness of this process. She is almost 6 months old and still does not have proof of citizenship or Canadian travel documents.

What really grinds my gears is that I have met people whose children were also born in Austria, are of a similar age, and already have Canadian passports.

Yeah it's definitely slow unless there's some urgent matter. I hope it's not too much longer for you.

Applying for a replacement:

June 2019 – application submitted at the embassy in HK
August 2019 – application received at CPC
November 2019 – AOR sent

Still waiting, no news since then, the response of my last inquiry is that there is a higher volume of applications causing longer processing time.

I sent an application to reflect a name change from within Canada that was received end of June ... then got AOR end of August... and then nothing after that... and when I inquired I got the same reply of higher volume of applications as well.

Update, today it's completed! We sent your citizenship certificate on March 12, 2020 to: XXX. If your certificate was sent to a Canadian embassy, high commission or consulate, you will be contacted when it arrives. Mailing times will vary by region and could take up to four months. If we have sent your certificate to the wrong address, please contact us.

I got my certificate mailed on the 11th as well! For me it has been 8.5 months since the application was received. Seems they are working on June/July applications.
