July 2019 - Citizenship Applicants

Hello all, I am wondering if there are any July 2019 applicants that have not received an invite to do the online test? I received my invite back in Feb 2020 but my test was cancelled two weeks prior due to the pandemic. I have not received any updates from IRCC yet but I see that alot of July applicants have already wrote the test and some have already gotten citizenship. Are there any one in a similar situation as me?

I think I am even one step behind you. I am a July 2019 applicant with "in process" since November 6, 2019. We never received any test invite; neither before covid (BC) nor after they have started the online tests. Yes, you are right many people from July 2019 even from the following months have already become citizens while many are still stuck with in process.

Yes, you are right, we are still stuck with "in process" from 5th November 2019. No updates or any correspondence from IRCC since.

Ok good to know that I'm not the only one that is "left behind". It is just so unfair that people who applied later can get the test invite/citizenship faster than us.

I too think the same I'm not the only one that is "left behind". Lucky people who ever got test invite at least.

I received my test invite today! I have had a 4th line since March when I got the first test invite but it got cancelled due to Covid.

Logged in this morning to see "Decision Made" So surprised at how fast that went. Thank God!

No I wasn't. I remember seeing your post about not being asked for additional paperwork btw test date and DM. I hope the next thing for us is the Oath ceremony.

I got DM on Jan. 7th. I took my test on Dec. 26th. Yeah, I’m hoping for the oath for us as well!

Hello all,

can I get some help here. When should I surrender my Indian citizenship? is there any time frame to surrender? My effective date of citizenship is aug 21st.

I haven’t applied for Canadian passport yet but ready to send by mail. should I apply to require a passport in the next 60 days?

Also can I apply OCI before surrendering Indian citizenship?

You can apply for OCI only after you get a Canadian passport and a surrender certificate (surrender certificate is issued only when you "surrender" Indian citizenship.

I have this site that explains the process. This is a bit old and so the process might be slightly different. Look at the site and also refer to the latest developments, if any.
