I'm sponsoring my Brazilian wife. This should be straightforward as there are no children involved and plenty of proof of a long term relationship was provided. (16 years) Here is the timeline:

Aug. 2 2018- Application received
Dec.19 2018-AOR (Ridiculous. This was 20 weeks)
Dec.21 2018- SA
Jan.4 2019- Medical request
Jan.15 2019- Medical results received and approved
Jan.28 2019- Application forwarded to Mexico City VO
Feb. 28 2019- AOR in Mexico City VO ( dated August 2, 2018) This makes no sense at all. It says that it was received in Mexico City on Aug. 2 2018. It was received in Sydney on that date.

Here is the application as it currently stands:

Review of eligibility- We are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility requirements.
Review of medical results- You passed the medical exam.
Review of additional documents -We do not need additional documents.
Interview -You do not need an interview. We will send you a message if this changes
Biometrics- We do not need your fingerprints. We will send you a message if this changes.
Background check Your application is in progress. We will send you a message when we start your background check.
Final decision -Your application is in progress. We will send you a message once the final decision has been made.

Anyone in a similar position and timeline? What do you think? Will this progress soon? Thanks

I have the same status and pretty sure everyone else is as well once medical & SA is passed and application is forwarded to a local VO everything goes silent, until BGC starts. Just stay positive since they don't need anymore additional documents, it means your application is pretty much in good standing and just waiting in the que. BGC was basically started in Canada before forwarded in another VO, if all clean and good and your application gets opened it will move much quicker. Really expect a good solid 8-10 months. Im a July 31 applicant and been quiet since the transfer on November 2018. Just staring at that AMAZING STATUS BAR they put up:D

Yes, We are in same position. July 13th our APP was received in Sydney, Nova Scotia. We are waiting in Ecuador, in my wife's hometown. Our app is now being processed at the Canada visa office in Mexico. Best of luck to all, we hope its a smooth process.

49 days away from 12 month estimated time and about 5 month since AOR 2 from Bogota VO.
I expect some news in June-July since the average time of completion following transfer to that VO is 7 month.

Hmmmmm. So if it was sent to the Bogota VO on Jan.23 and there is a 7 month wait after that, then it won't be done until August. Does that make sense?

I wonder if there is a backlog at that VO. Perhaps as the 12 month limit approaches things speed up. I'm still curious as to why Brazilian applications are sent to Mexico City and not processed in Sao Paulo.
