Interview scheduled to the Etobicoke’s office for May 4th at 8:30 am!

They’ve said that I can bring new pictures for the PR card (which I want updated ones). Does anyone know a reliable PR photo taking place in the GTA?

Interview : 04-30-2019 (calgary)

The Interview was simple. I got the CoPR , new permanent SIN, and updated Alberta Health Care yesterday.
The IRCC office in calgary was clean and quiet. My interview time was 8am-9am period, and there was citizenship exam too. A lady(security?) Let the Citizenship people to go in first(to the left) and then let PR people to queue from like 7:50, let us go in at 8:00am sharp to the right.
If you go in, you submit the interview call-in letter first, then be seated and wait to be called in order.
(The IRCC lady was kind, let the elderly to have seats first, etc.)
When I was called to approach, the officer already printed out my CoPR and welcomed me. I gave her our IDs and my work permit, 2 pieces photos of mine and the receipt. (Most of you do not need to pay $490 again. If you paid $1040 when you started processing that should include RRRF $490) The questions were these; to sponsor "are you working now?', 'have you asked for financial support program from government?', and 'is this your first time sponsoring?
Asked me 'have you ever been asked to leave Canada?' 'Have you ever been declined to enter Canada?' 'any dependents on this application other than you?'
Asked both of us 'have you ever committed crimes either inside or outside of Canada?'
After that, she wanted me to check if all the information was correct and sign some papers, gave me CoPR saying I should keep it forever, I will need it to get pension later. She suggested me to go change SIN, update Alberta Health Care, and bank information, and notify my work. And the PR card will be delivered to home, taking up to 40 days.
To update your SIN and AHC, you only need CoPR and a piece of photo ID.
I hope this helps the ones with unfinished process. Thank you so much, wish everyone good luck.

Landing interview experience:

It was scheduled for 8:30 am on a Saturday and we've stayed there for about 15 minutes until we got to talk to an officer by a stand-up booth.

The officer asked for my (PA) passport and both PA and sponsor's ID + photos of PA (they took only one picture). We've moved to a new address a week earlier so we've brought our recently outdated IDs (driver's license and photo card) with the same address + the paper from ServiceOntario requesting to update the address. There were no issues with that.

They've asked who was the PA and sponsor, if we've committed any crimes anywhere, and if we had any children anywhere. After that, the officer gave us 2 pieces of paper to sign, asked me if I travel a lot for work since they saw the last stamps on my passport and said that I would need the PR card to arrive in the mail before travelling.

Then they told me "Congratulations, you are now a PR of Canada", explained that I should keep the papers to apply for citizenship and pension and was done with it. It took probably less than 5 minutes. The officer was really nice and the experience was great.

The PR card theoretically takes 8-10 weeks to arrive and I can't wait to get it since I need to travel abroad for work again. Hopefully there are no further delays. I'll keep everyone updated here until the end.

Is there a way of linking the PR card application on our CIC account? I think my photos will get rejected since I forgot to put my name and date of birth on the back of the photo...

I’ve called CIC this morning (5 minutes waiting, which was shockingly quick) and told one of the agents the story. They told me that they don’t know if the pictures will actually be rejected and that there were no notes on my PR card application.

I asked if I could proactively send new photos that matched all the requirements and they sent me the following email with instructions on how to do that:
—————
If you applied for a Permanent Resident card (PR card), or if you are waiting to receive your initial PR card, and the Case Processing Centre requires that you provide new photos, we invite you to:

  • Send two photos according to the photo specifications, and
  • Include:
    • if available, the letter/email received to that effect, or
    • an explanation letter (including your complete name, date of birth and UCI).
Where to send them

By regular mail:

Case Processing Centre - PRC
P.O. Box 4500
Sydney, Nova Scotia
B1P 6L1

If you would like to have proof that your photos were received, you may use registered or express mail with Canada Post or a courier service such as Purolator, UPS, FedEx, etc. Please instruct the courier service to use this address:

Case Processing Centre - PRC
49 Dorchester Street
Sydney, NS
B1P 5Z2
—————
I already took new photos, inserted my full name and DOB on their backs (both, even though they said one was enough), made sure all the other requirements were met, and sent them via Canada Post with expedited delivery (which should be delivered by Friday, guaranteed).

Maybe I spent extra money and time for nothing, but it’s better to be safe than sorry. If my original pictures were to be rejected, I’ve seen cases of people waiting 3-6 months to get the PR card, which I don’t have the luxury to risk it.

By the way, I asked CIC’s agent if I could see the progress of the PR card on my online account and they said no for the first application under family sponsorship. Not sure if this is accurate, but I wasn’t able to link anything yesterday.

Thank you for the information!
I called IRCC too, and the representative said my pr card is already on the way. They sent it on May 6th, Monday. So I'm just waiting for it.
I hope your case is just same as mine, so you can get your card soon.
Thx again.
