Thanks for your advise. I applied for OWP on 31st oct. they received in Nov 3 as per delivery confirmation. However, still waiting on email confirmation by CIC.

My medical passed on November 1st week. Since I didn’t apply for my OWP earlier, I applied for it on 31st Oct. Currently I am on implies status as my visa and work permit expired this week. My question is, can I visit back home for my dads emergency condition during my implied status? If anyone knows a way please suggest. Any piece of your information may gratly help me now. Thanks

You should NOT leave the country while on Implied Status.It is not technically a "legal" status therefore leaving the country while being on it is NOT going to help you get back in.
It's a huge risk to leave the country even with an OWP since re-entry is never guaranteed.
There isn't much you can do at this point without putting your application at some sort of risk unfortunately...

my pp is within 6months, i went to my high commission to get a new passport on Friday, updated it on Saturday through the link that was sent with the request letter.
i'm waiting for an update from cic..

Background check says Not Applicable. I've been living in Canada way past 6 months before applying, so I hope they don't ask for a criminal check now as they said it wasn't necessary in my case.
i dont think is advisable for you to leave the country, you may have an issue when you want re-entry

RCPM fingerprint background requested: 11-22-2018
They specifically requested for a RCMP police clearance certificate based on fingerprints. Is it normal? And does anyone know a good place in Toronto?
If anyone wants to know, I’ve done the digital fingerprinting RCPM criminal check at Canadian Fingerprinting Services in Toronto at College and Yonge.
I was the first one to arrive by 8 am and took me less than 15 minutes. They will send the fingerprints to the RCMP electronically, then the police will physically mail the results to my address in about 12 calendar days — the fingerprinting agency said that it is safer than mailing directly to CIC because they have had many issues with clients saying CIC never received anything from the RCMP, especially with Canada Post’s continuing strikes. Finally, I will mail the results to CIC via courier.
After this is done and everything is okay, does anyone know the next steps on the application?
I am still waiting for my RCMP results as you can see that you can upload your Police clearance in MyCIC and mail the original as well .. its been 8days now since iv done it in montreal .. it should be here by now but bcoz of the strike delay is inevitable so i should wait a little bit more time before calling..
