Well I got an RCMP record request. Is this a real sign of activity, though? Since it's required after 6 months of residing in Canada, I thought it might be an automatic timed message.

Hmmm. I would have thought the CIC had access to RCMP data and wouldn't need the applicant to get that. Our sponsors didn't have to get RCMP reports to be approved as sponsors..... I'm a bit confused on this. Good news is RCMP requests only take a few days to get. Anyone else surprised that CIC would ask for a RCMP report?

I see in the June 2015 thread someone that applied June 1st with the Ottawa office got DM Jan 10th and COPR on January 19th. We submitted about 7 weeks later so I am guessing in the next few weeks things should be happening. I wonder about the others that filled in the beginning of July??

When they requested the RCMP record, did you get a fourth line on ecas? I've been expecting them to ask for one for my husband.

Any more DMs for July applicants? July seems due... Especially for Ottawa VO.

Nothing has updated in ecas, but we received the email from the Kiev visa office today, saying that our file has been processed and requesting that we send the passport for the visa to be issued. The passport must be sent within the next 30 days, and the visa will be issued within 5 business days!

Well THAT's big news! Congrats!! You did it!! Now just the last few steps but you already know you made it. That must be a relief!

Hello,

I'm wondering when it's a good time to order GCMS notes? Who can order and how to order? Thx

Well, in 2014, I would have thought an immigration application from USA to Canada would have consisted of little more than a series of signatures granting permission to access various records, and be processed within a month or two. At this moment, the only thing that would surprise me is if CIC actually did process something in a logical and efficient manner for once.

No, there is no update there since Medicals.

DM this morning. I was shocked.

Still the same four lines on ecas though.

Did you get a request for new pictures? Since they changed the dimensions, I have been hearing that new pictures must be sent in.

Nope. No request for new pictures. I got a request on January 11 for a copy of my Quebec Selection Certificate, emailed that in right away... And then nothing until checked ecas today and saw "Decision Made" instead of "In Process" under PR application status. When I click through, however, I don't yet have an additional line that says "A decision has been made on your file" but I expect I'll see that in a day or two (based on past experience). My lines are as follows:

We received your application for permanent residence on August 11, 2015.
We started processing your application on October 7, 2015.
Medical results have been received.
We sent you correspondence on January 11, 2016. If you have not yet provided the information or the requested documents, please do so as soon as possible. Please wait until you receive the correspondence before sending us additional information, as the correspondence will outline all information that is required.
