Yeah they seem to have ground to a halt in Ottawa recently, lets hope that DM is the start of the ball rolling for a few more. Gets pretty frustrating when Mississagua apps are flying through, espeically ones that applied months after!

Hi Folks, I decided to do a medical after I submitted my application but now its becoming a little tricky. The reason i did this was because I didn't want the clock to start ticking before I was ready to move. I am planning to land July 2015. The medical centre that does the medicals in Scotland have told me to get in touch with CIC because I am not visible in their system using my UCI number. They suggested that if I did an upfront medical now then it might become a little messy since there is no way to link the new reference number with my existing UCI number. So they suggested that I get in touch with the CIC to ask why I am not visible in their system. I can't find a phone number for CPC Ottawa and I have sent them email but received no reply.

Somebody can correct me if I'm wrong here but isn't the UCI number applicable to your sponsor and not you as the UCI number you have will relate to your partners SA. However if you received your SA there should be a seperate application number on that letter which is applicable to your PR application. Once your PR application starts processing you would receive your own UCI number. Maybe they should try the application number if that's possible.

Yes so it would explain why the OP's medical cannot be matched up as they are using the incorrect UCI number.

Yeah this makes sense. Thanks for your replies guys. I will try and give them the other reference number to see if they can find me in the system that way. I was originally going to wait until the VO sent me a request for a medical but I'm thinking that it could be quite a long time before they do that. My application has been sent to Ottawa.

Pretty smoothly really! We went into secondary and quickly saw a CBSA guard. I handed over my passport and COPR, he looked over it and then asked me what my address was. I began to recite it but then he stopped me and asked, "Do you have a driver's licence or piece of ID with it on?"

When I said, "No, I don't have a BC licence yet," the guard sternly asked, "You don't have anything that shows your address?" Luckily I had brought with me pretty much the entire application/evidence package along with a new bank statement which had arrived a few days ago, so I gave him that and he said I could take a seat. After about 5 minutes, he called me up again, had me initial and sign parts of the COPR to confirm i understood the conditions and that the information was correct.

He then folded and stapled my COPR into my PP, went away and came back with a little Canadian flag, an information letter for new PRs and a more relaxed/happy face! He explained that my PR card would be mailed to my address in 6-8 weeks, handed me the flag and said "Congratulations!" We then left to get back to the car, another guard gave his congratulations too and we headed back home.

That doesn't sound too bad at all. Makes me a little worried though because when I land I won't have anything with the address I'm moving to on it yet. Glad everything went pretty smoothly for you though.

Also the little Canadian flag thing is really cute.

Just signed in on my husbands ECAS for the first time, (Always used mine before hand) and it shows the mailing address as our house number, 000 then our street number 1234 and then Private Road, but it is really supposed to be;

000 Private Road 1234

Will that cause an issue??
I mean are they actually going to MAIL anything? Or email? because we sent all his passport copies in before hand, same with medicals and such. It also says you have to CONTACT them to change it. I'm 10000% sure we did our address right on everything else. I just dont know if US postal will get that right and mail to the right location. What do i do?

Hey guys, got a bit of a problem here. I was just informed that I needed to add some more "proof of ongoing relationship" to my PR application. Besides maybe a couple pointers on maybe what to put in, when my husband and I originally filed we put wedding pictures and phone records in, I was also wondering on how to go about sending it in. Mail or Online? Now on top of that when I try to check my application I'm quite unsure of what to pick as the drop down choices on their website. If anyone would maybe be willing to point me in the right direction I would be forever grateful.
