Should I mail this for them? Thx.

Hi,

I have applied for PR under CEC in july 2014, under NOC 6321. my studies in canada was in networking, but i applied for PR as a chef, because i worked in a restaurant for 2years. will my study background be a problem?? since it doesnt match with the category of my PR application??

Hi all,

I applied CEC in July 2014.
Noc Code: 1212
Salary: 13.5/hr working full time.more than 35 hours a week.

I just checked in job bank minimum wage for noc 1212 is 16.45/hr so will this effect same in CEC?

I don't think your studies has anything to do with the Job Category you are applying for.Since you have worked as a chef for two years you are applying for the position of a chef and you will be in a position to show the roles and responsibilities you have been performing in line with a chef's position. I would say you are fine.

Had it been the other way around it could have been a problem. ( Applying for network engineer but working as a chef for past two years )

Hi Hossein,

I would say no harm in mailing them because couple of months ago I also sent an email but never got an response from them. Looks like they are pretty random in sending their response. However for safety I would advice you mail your supporting documents or information whatever you have. also don't forget to include your details like UCI number, DOB, stuff like that.

Thanks Clark.

Hello July applicants

I wanted to give you an update. I applied GCMS notes on Jan12, 2015 and recieved today on Feb 11, 2015.

Nothing has been started yet, except criminality saying "In Progress".

Thanks.

I advise against you mailing them about a new employer.

1. As long as you had 1 year of qualified work experience you are eligible for CEC. After that 1 year, you can change job, be unemployed, do whatever you want, IMO CIC couldn't care less. Of course this applies ONLY to CEC as PNP would be a VERY DIFFERENT case.

2. I haven't read from anywhere that any update in employment has to be sent to CIC for CEC application, for the same reason as #1.

3. CEC has literally hundreds of thousands of files on their shelves, I really wouldn't want to mess that process up by adding more unnecessary documents, or complexities.
