I have received confirmation of receipt of my application from SGVO on December 9, 2014. Is it AOR?

Now I have a query regarding passport validity. My passport will expire on 5th January 2016. I came to know from the forum that CIC issues visa for 12 month from medical request letter. Can any one please confirm what should I do? Should I renew it now or CIC can stamp visa in the current status of the passport.

Yes, it is AOR. Regarding your Passport expiration date, you should renew your passport now.

I am also facing the same situation. My Passport is expiring in end of January 2016. As per Indian Passport Rules, I can only renew it maximum before one year of expiry date. So, I have to wait till end of January. If all goes well, by that time my MR should be done.
According to CIC your passport should have at least one year of validity at the time of you send it for Visa stamping.
The only thing I can do is wait until end of Jan and renew it immediately when it has only one year of validity.

In your case I would recommend you to check with Singapore Passport services, and check passport renewal guidelines. And afterwards, go for the renewal.

Well, thanks for your reply. Since am on this forum now - I did want to ask you a question regarding funds.

- Do they have to be constantly available in my account from the time I applied till I receive my visa. I'm asking this because we might be having a slight fluctuation due to one of them being a salary account. That account is mostly used for our general expenses.

Will this be something I need to look into.

- Also the question about ECAS updating the "2nd line" - are you referring that to the Medical request.

If you say there would be slight fluctuation in the funds, than it should be ok. But, Seniors in main forum has suggested to maintain consistent throughout the whole process...

The local visa office may ask for updated POF....
OR
They might ask you for proof of fund at the time of landing. So its better to maintain funds in your account.


for your second question I would say yes. Once your second line is updated, you might get your MR.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

If I renew the passport, present will be replaced with new one with new number but I will get hold of the old one as cancelled.

Do you think it will be a problem? How do I inform CIC in that case on renewal of passport and related information?And When to do so?

We forwarded our application last July 29, 2014. Our sponsor who's my brother in-law has not interviewed yet, is it normal to wait til 5 to 6 months before his interview?

As per SS, Latest app status processes (After PER) is a second line to a June 25th applicant.

So, I hope I can have an update next week, unless they started Xmas celebrations.

If they will be closed in Christmas celebration, then we will have MR till mid January...

Yes, it is AOR. Regarding your Passport expiration date, you should renew your passport now.

Same here. Has any 4th July applicant or later July one received AOR from SVO? Dont know why AOR annoucement is suddenly slowing down???
