You did not specify if you applied Online or via Paper. But the process is if your application is approved, your passport will be asked to be submitted to the Canada Visa Application Centre. Canada Visa Application Centre will submit to IRCC for stamping of the visa and then return it back to Canada Visa Application Centre.

If rejected, you will receive a letter which indicates why the application was refused.

I applied via paper on VFS please let me know what going on.
