Job transition Process

Hi All,

I have got a BC PNP approval and currently applied for my work permit which usually takes 3 to 4 months. I need your expert opinion on the below doubts:

1. Can I resign from my services with the current employer and wait until receive a new work permit to start new job. In other words, would there be any impact on my current Canadian status if not doing job and is on employer assisted work Visa (not open)

2. How much time AOR number generation process takes for work permits?
