Hi,
I’m working as a machine operator which comes under noc C but my duties are that of a CAD/CAM Programmer which comes under noc B. The employer is willing to provide the duties on my reference letter but won’t change the job title . Would this affect my PR application in any way ? Is it necessary to change the job title or can I go on working with the same title and apply for my PR using that title ?
By the way my duties are:
Designing new and modifying existing programs using AutoCAD, EZ G Code Generator and Flow waterjet software, as per the company’s production requirements.
• Developing applications using CAD/CAM for the control of CNC waterjet machine.
• Responsible for setting up, monitoring and operating waterjet and several other metal shop fabricating machines in the manufacture of component ventilation parts in accordance with precise specifications and tolerances as required in the production of a variety of air quality units.
• Performing machine set up, routine maintenance and minor repairs to equipment and machinery including maintaining proper levels of oil and grease and otherwise ensuring the good running order of machinery.
• Assist in the diagnosis of major machine breakdowns for referral and corrective action by the supervisor or manager.
• Responsible for routine inspection of production to ensure component parts are produced according to required specifications and acceptable precision tolerances.
• Prepare and maintain appropriate production run records and documentation.
• Ensure the fabricated components are transferred to proper assembler.
• Cleaning immediate work area and ensuring that proper health and safety standards and procedures are followed.
• As requested, assist other operators in the set up and operation of machines.
• Assist in the training of new and part-time production workers.

Job title doesn't have to match the title list provided in NOC.

NOC was adapted by IRCC from Service Canada.

Long story short.....please go ahead and get that reference letter. God Speed!

Thanks a lot. I was a bit scared because I had a friend who’s facing the same problem and he contacted a lawyer. And he said that would be an issue but don’t know if he was trying to get him to be his client.

So all I would need is a reference letter pointing out my duties, pay, hours etc. Right?
