Hi All,

I am having 10+ years of experience in IT field from my home country. Reading the forums, i am not sure , if i can get a job easily. I dont have canada experience. I have worked on various positions in the same company in my home country and now a project manager. I have worked as IT analyst, IT Lead, presales, IT Manager...etc. I want to keep my options broader and apply for different jobs in different fields for the experience i gained in my home country.

I have Canada PR under FSW with project manager experience. Can i apply jobs in sales, pre-sales by requesting my existing company for the experience letter as IT pre-sales, sales lead and apply jobs in canada.

Will there be a problem during employment or canada citizenship with different experience letter as IT sales lead from same company. I want to follow the canada rules and succeed in canada.

Kindly advise

Thanks

I don't think that would be a problem...... It's good ...., If you can avail experience letters the way you want

Besides, even If you can't get changed experience letters.......still...,, I think you can convince your employer that you are multi skilled....,,, I guess....,, it's nothing wrong to have multi skills....,, generally employers look for multiple skilled workers.....
Cheers :)

Thanks for your reply and advise.

As my current experience is project manager from current company through which i got my canadian PR.

if i obtain experience letters from my current company like Pre-Sales or IT Analyst, i hope, it is not considered misrepresentation during background check for canada citizenship or employment check...etc.

applying for sales, pres-ales or project management job, based on overseas experience is very challenging or almost impossible. These jobs require extensive knowledge and experience on the Canadian market

Try to focus on IT technical jobs, where the experience can be matched. The same technology applies in Canada and outside it.

Good luck!

I am no expert, I think there is no relation between the expereince letter you provided while applying for FSW & the one you provide now for job search. Since your profession is un-regulated you don't need any such letter for job search. I knew one of my friend got FSW as Engineer but he started applying for sales job as soon as he landed. Now he is settled in sales.
