Job Reference Letter query

So i am employed at a job from Aug 07,2017 - Present.
I am planning to quit next week and i am submitting my file in September. Today my employer is giving me the reference letter.

My question is should the date for employment be Aug 07 2017- Aug 07 2018 or Aug 07 - Present

From Aug 07 2017 until you your last date in that company.

if you're gonna get the letter today and submit your application sometime before you actually quit the company, it should be fine for the letter to say Aug 2017 to present. and once you've quit you can raise a CSE to update them.
