I am Permenent Resident of Canada and presently looking for any opportunities in Canada. Presently I am in India and want to know the job scenerio in Canada especially in Engineering field. Any comments and tips in this regard will be greatly appreciated.
1. I graduated from U of A in Mechanical Engg (M.Sc.) and earlier completed M.Tech from IIT Delhi
2. I have very brief experience in Candian Industry (4 months) in Engineering company
3. Presently I am working with leading MNC (Siemens) in R & D division for over 2 years now
4. My total experience in R & D field (Academic+Industrial) is more than 5 years. However, since there are very few options in R & D (Engineering) field in Canada, I am willing to do pure engineering field
5. Since I do not have Ph.D. I do not qualify for postdoc jobs which are hired purely based on resume without interview. However I am ready to work for such contract positions in academic research, however any tips in this regard will be gretly appreciated.
However, I want to know the present job scenario in Canada. I know its not booming and unemployement is high at 8.5%. Are there any signs of improvement in job market in Canada? Is it worth taking a risk and move to Canada without valid job offer at this time? especially when its very difficult to get a job offer from India?
