AOR Received.

Hello everyone:

I have applied for PR under CEC and got my AOR. Iam planning to apply for BOWP by April2014 as my current one expires by July2014. Now I got job in Montreal, Quebec.

I have few doubts before accepting my offer.

1. If I apply for BWOP, am I eligible to work in Quebec?
2. If not, and if I apply for closed work permit, will it affect my PR decision? Because I should inform to CIC regarding my change.

Thanks in advance.

It may conflict with your intent to reside outside Quebec if you take up a job in Quebec.

Regardless of the work permit route you choose, if you move, you have to inform cic of your new address. If you move to quebec as dbss says, that conflicts with the rules of CEC - you would then either be rejected or if you're lucky, be asked to prove that you don't intend on living in Quebec

Thanks for your reply. I found this thread in this forum. It says that BWOP is not restricted to work anywhere including Quebec.

Anybody in same situation, any other suggestions....

it is not restricted but you intend on staying outside Quebec as per your CEC application which directly contradicts with your job....

BWOP will not restrict you from working in Quebec but your CEC PR will
with CEC, you have basically promised the government you will live outside Quebec
if you want to take the job, i think it would be the best to drop your CEC and apply for a different PR program from Quebec

Thanks for all for your suggestion. I would drop my idea to accept my offer.

Hi everyone :

I have a similar situation. Been living in Toronto for 3 years and I have a pending CEC application (already accepted by CIC and in process since July 2013) and have a BOWP. The problem is that because there was NO way that I could apply for CSQ in Québec (because of the new rules and requirements set by the province as of last year), I decided to apply for CEC because the only way I could apply for the CSQ based on the new CSQ requirements, was if my application for PR had been accepted for processing by CIC (I did not meet any of the other requirements for CSQ as of now). It's kind of contradictory on both sides. I can apply for CSQ if my PR application is accepted by CIC but I can't reside in Quebec once I become a PR? So my question is, if I move to Montreal, let's say i get a job offer, will that affect my PR application? Would it be OK to keep an address in Ontario and then apply for CSQ once I have my PR?

It will definitely affect your application. I got my work experience and undergraduate degree in Montreal, then I moved to Toronto to avoid this problem and the officer still had doubts and made me prove I intend to reside out of Quebec. If you move to Quebec, and they know about it, your application will be denied for sure.

What about, if we got a job in Montreal after landed as CEC-PR? Is there is any restriction to work/stay in Quebec after got CEC-PR? Or we can work or stay anywhere in Canada after got CEC-PR?

Yeah after landing there's no problem. Which is kind of dumb if you ask me. That's why I left Montreal so I wouldn't have that problem, yet they felt I might move back, well technically I can after I get the PR, so It doesn't really make any sense, but OK.
