I applied the end of september, of course not MR yet.

I feel my reference letter is too general in "job describtion"

How do you feel?

this is mine from reference letter.

Major duties and responsibilities include but not limited to provide patient/family driven care in
collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, to deliver treatment with a emphasis on assessment, education, prevention, maintenance and restoration of health in a supportive and culturally sensitive manner.

this is from HRSDC

•Provide nursing services, within defined scope of practice, to patients based on patient assessment and care planning procedures
•Perform nursing interventions such as taking vital signs, applying aseptic techniques including sterile dressing, ensuring infection control, monitoring nutritional intake and conducting specimen collection
•Administer medication and observe and document therapeutic effects
•Monitor established respiratory therapy and intravenous therapy
•Monitor patients' progress, evaluate effectiveness of nursing interventions and consult with appropriate members of healthcare team
•Provide safety and health education to individuals and their families.

Do I have to send updated reference letter?

It looks way general to me , dont know what VO will think.......I would say just ask for a job description from your HR and then put duties which are (inline with HRSDC) from there in your letter and get it signed from your supervisor. I did this way end up with one and half page for list of duties:) and it looked pretty good.
