Dear Friends
Can anyone share the experience of having a job/trying for a job prior to landing? I mean- with the visa issued by CIC and you have no prior arranged employment, did you try securing a job beforehand?

I am a little worried to leave my current job and move to Canada with the idea to start searching only after I complete the landing formalities. Any advice/directions would be highly helpful. Thank You

I am just answering without knowing what is your professional backgroud is. Generally speaking, it is NOT so easy as you think to secure a job in Canada even after landing. Perhaps some one can find soon any kind of hard labour jobs, security guards, maintenance related jobs if he is experienced in any trade like mason, carpenter, electrician, plumber, HWAC technician ..etc...etc. What I understand is, there are many skilled worker and handy man job opportunities available without much problem. Chances for security guards are more, even without any experience. However, it depends on any one's qualification and experience and more over the availability of vacant positions in the job market.
You will be very lucky if some one offer you a job before landing. If such an offer is satisfactory, make a deal that you can join after landing.
Any how you should try your luck and fortune... May God bless you.
