Congratulations
Was your manager contacted or the HR?
My current manager. But it is the person whose details I gave on the AINP012 form, so depends on what you’ve declared. I do not believe my previous non-Canadian employers were contacted.

Great news this morning for me. Just got provincial nomination too! Got emails from AINP with certificate and from IRCC with message in account, accepted, +600 CRS appeared as soon as logged in again. Next step ITA! I’ve updated my timeline below...

Very best of luck to my AINP brothers and sisters. It can happen! Keep the faith! ;)

NOC: 3111, CRS: 458 (now 1058!)
Connections: worked and lived in Alberta since July 2019, job offer in Alberta, no studies or close relatives in Canada
EE profile: 13 Dec 2019 (day I got my IELTS result)
NOI for AINP express entry stream: 9 Jan 2020 (did not find out until 25 Jan 2020)
Received EOI pack: 27 Jan 2020
Sent EOI: 30 Jan 2020
EOI arrived at AINP: 31 Jan 2020
FN: 7 Feb 2020
Sent extra document: 8 Feb 2020 (this was because extra ECA for PhD finally came through on 8th from WES, so sent this with a covering letter and my file number)
Canadian employer contacted by email by AINP and responded: 11 Mar 2020
PN: 11 Mar 2020 (33 days, 22 working days)
ITA: most likely will be 18 Mar 2020
Congrats to you..It definitely can happen. Patience and endurance. Still waiting and hoping for EOI.

Great news bro. Happy for you. I've been following your posts and you always give some great insights. Hopefully you will stick around ;-) If you dont, we understand. Hopefully all of us in a years time have a meet somewhere in Tim's maybe ? Who knows.

Not exactly sure which “conspiracy theories” you mean?
I may have used this term a bit vaguely. There are so many people spreading rumours like, AINP wont issue any NOI since the O&G business is down. Govt officials are on leave so no one is processing papers or issuing NOI due to COVID-19, and many more.

Just a further update. Employer contacted today. Basically been asked to provide all the information that was in the job offer again. Guess it's to be certain it's not false perhaps. Inland applicant. File number Feb 14.

Does Alberta consider spouse's uncle by blood as a connection?
Guidelines given on website only shows parent, child and sibling.
Thank you

Thanks so much everyone for your messages. It’s definitely an AINP family here! Will definitely stay with the forum ... today was just the next step in another 6+ month journey. Sounds great to meet up some day for a Tim Horton’s, a Cesar at Stampede, or something else suitably Canadian!

Sounds like good news should come soon @MatAb. My boss let me know he was contacted by email, he had responded within 5 min. My emails from IRCC and AINP officer arrived 20 min and 24 min respectively after their message to my boss. So they should get back to you soon!

The updated AINP website is usually a good sign as you say @Ajnim. Finally officially confirmed the Feb 20 draw after 3 weeks. Wishing everyone good luck.

Also have never mentioned the Alis website, though others have. Link is https://alis.alberta.ca/occinfo/occupations-in-alberta/occupations-in-demand/. The ones listed as being in high demand, medium demand etc are slightly different to the PDF on Alberta government site that I’ve linked before. Perhaps the Alis site is more up-to-date. As has been said ... no-one really knows who gets nomination, why or when (sometimes seems not even the good folks at AINP ;)). But important things seem to be: completing your EE profile correctly, having an NOC in demand (doesn’t have to be “high”), not being on the excluded NOC list, having connection to Alberta through work/study/family (though hopefully this will change soon for outland applicants). And another important thing is to try not to lose hope on the way! May there be lots of draws in March and the coming months, and best of luck with your journeys.

Think they don’t unfortunately (as per website like you say). But no harm in putting in EE profile. And arguably you should mention so honest answer to question. Just would need to mention in Letter or Explanation down the road, as you don’t want to then have go to lots of effort to get evidence of uncle’s citizenship and relationship in a joint application if it won’t get you any points.
