Essentially , that checkmark is testing your eligibility .

Its clearly stating , if the answer of that checkbox is "Yes" , you are not eligible to sponsor . That's why that checkbox is important .
What is this checkbox that you are talking about that tests your eligibility?

Does an AOR guarantee that your papers won’t be returned? Thank you

No AOR yet, I’m just worried about our papers getting returned, but I did double/ triple check our papers before sending them, but still you never know..

As per cic websites, last uodtae for check list is june 2018 but if you download recent checklist then you can find that last chexklistc update in december 2018.

Usually the Acknowledgement of Receipt does guarantee it won'tbe returned, but apparently (very rarely) they can still send it back buy that is very rare and to be honest I haven't seen this happen or why but this forum kind of discusses it: https://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/threads/can-an-application-be-returned-after-aor.545603/

I'm scared ours will be returned too... I'm nervous about the NOA I submitted and if it is acceptable. And now my mind is starting to question everything I did haha! I forgot to make new copies of the updated forms that we filled out so I'm hoping I didn't leave anything blank etc. Did you apply early January as well? :)

Yup, yup! I actually checked on December 31st right before I was going to send it off and saw the update. I did print and submit it but I've heard that they have a grace period if you don't have the updated form. Not too sure how long it is but I think 1 month or 2. So if you sent it in January and the update was made in Dec the grace period should apply! Buy yeah they should make clearer updates for those!

Good thing there’s grace period. Because I didint have the Updated form.. hope they wont return our app.

What’s the difference though between the new and old? IS there a new form they need? Or something? Hope none..

The only difference is one single line that says if applicable to your PA’s country, pay biometric fee along with RPRF. Rest of the form is the same word for word. I too have sent the old form. Keeping the grace period in mind, the fact that CIC themselves have not updated it on the website (only in the actual form has it changed) and that its such a minor change, it doesnt make sense for them to return the application especially if you pay the biometric fee anyways along with your application.

Honestly nothing much except the mention of biometrics! Other than that, I remember it being identical! You should

I really hope so too! I wonder if there is an F B group for January applicants. We should have one to make updates a bit easier. By any chance is there an excel sheet or something where updates can be made? Our time should be in the next week or 2 so it would be nice to have something to track progress a bit easier! I really hope this goes by smoothly and quickly for us all. IT IS STRESSING ME OUT SO MUCH WAITING!

Oh no. This is bad. I thought applicants from Philippines are not required biometrics. The last time I checked we were not, maybe I checked wrong. ‍♀

Do you guys think its ok to pay the biometrics fee to follow?? Hopefully they wont return our application..

Old forms are acceptable. They wont return on base of old forms or checklist. New checklist is mandatory for 14 dec or after that applicants
