I am really happy it is accurate! Even though it isn't great news, at least we can rely on it and have a better idea of when we will get approval! I am happy.

I hear you. It's better to know that they're just starting to process than having CIC call centre agents saying you're application is lost and people panicking. Better the devil you know.

I'm glad they've finally 'fessed the damn hell up about the real timescale.

They can be as much of a shambles as they want but I just wanted them to be honest and open and REALISTIC with their clients about what is going on. Hope it continues.

Exactly. Maybe this means they got their computer troubles out and were able to calculate the dates and numbers. Hopefully things start picking up. I can't believe my application has been there for 6 weeks and there is over a month's worth of other applications that haven't even been opened yet!

I think April 2 is right, they are 2 days behind. Look at my case, 77 days on April 4, so April 2 is 75 days. I don't expect too much from them, good enough this time. :) Maybe our case got approved, I am happy and so positive mood.

I am so happy for you I do hope things are back on track.

Indeed. And congrats to you and all of the other recent Jan 18's! This gives me hope!

But I live and work in the UAE. It's illegal to send passport through courier.

Is there anyone out there with the same situation?

Fadil, unfortunately you may have to do what a former New Delhi applicant did - he was an Indian citizen working in Australia; when he got the PPR, he could see no choice except to return to India and waited 7 months until his visa was issued. Basically an enforced 7 month vacation. Why on earth Delhi asks for passports long before making PR decisions is baffling.

Now that your file has been transferred to Delhi, perhaps you could preemptively ask them to wait until they're ready to issue your visa before requesting the passport. The fact that you live and work in the Gulf, and would have to possibly give up your employment and twiddle your thumbs in India for x number of months would be good grounds to make the request. Can't hurt to ask at any rate.
