People from February are receiving their sponsorship approval on these forums...really weird in 22 days none the less this is making me wonder if I should have applied as a sponsor in french maybe the backlog is not as big..... This is sooo frustating!

I joke... I joke... I kid...I kid....I don't think my joke is working
If I offend... I'm sorry, please, please forgive....I do not think it is working... just like that

Hi! I have a question. Canadian embassy in manila is requesting for my additional documents which is a fully completed appendix A for me and each of my family member. Here's my question : what does family member mean? Do i need to include my parents and siblings or it's just my spouse and daughter?
Help!

Thanks. :)

Hi,

I tried calling the number +1-613-944-4000 from outside Canada. It worked :)

Got to speak with an agent of CIC. After giving all the details, she said, there is no info about our application in the system yet. :(

Client Id is one which my wife (Sponsor) had an ID, when she was on PR status.

I m gonna keep trying today as well. Hope our application gets approved.

That'd be me....I was with for the members who don't have a completed info to contact me with their additional info...I'll update soon!

It would not hurt to call at all....but the more recent notices have been to those of us waiting 70 days or longer. I'd call...each time you are sure to speak to someone different. In fact, I felt that the rudest person I had spoken to out of the 3 different calls I had made was the person that confirmed my sponsorship approval...go figure. The others were really nice and gave me hope that everything was alright it that I still needed to wait my turn.

My suggestion again to everyone, that would be everyone from January now to start calling... We all have meetings at work right, to discuss what's going on and how we can improve....e call centre people are sure to provide feedback to their supperiors on the majority of their calls. Who knows it might get whatever ball they are using on the roll!

Hi alf+jlh,

I will certainely call CIC today. Its 70 days passed.

yes family members are your children only and spouse(if spouse is not sponsor) but if your spouse is sponsoring you then you dont need to put your spouse's name only your children.
i replied based on my personal knowledge from this forum and CIC website better you wait for expert advice or call CIC.
best of luck :)

So I went to get the mAil before work and to my surprise my Approval letter was there, it came yesterday!

Although the processing is done in Mississauga the letter came from Ottawa. I'm only a 4 hr drive from the capital so it makes sense that the letter came that fast. As the agent on the phone said, approval date is march 21.

So even tho the agent also told I was sent an email, clearly she was misunderstood.

Happy to have something In hand!

Who will be next!!??!!?!? ;D

The sponsorship application will have same client id as your PR however a new number will be issued for the immigration application. So if the sponsor had a file before the client id would be that. The applicant once sponsor is approved will get a number. (Per CIC's agent saying)

According to IMM5406E "additional family" member are:
section A: spouse/common law , mother and father
section B: CHILDREN (Include ALL sons and da ughters, including ALL adopted and step-child ren, regardless of age or place of residence)
SECTION C: BROTHERS AND SISTERS (Including half - and step-brothers and sisters)

true but i think in her context family members would b only the ones applying for PR (her and maybe children if it's the case); she didn't say additional ::) although i don't know what appendix A is for Manila embassy....the ones from the same embassy could help more :)
