Hello to all.

I am the sponsor, my husband is the applicant. I sent our application on December 29, 2011 and it was received on January 4, 2012 in Mississauga. The waiting game has started for me. It seems that the first step, "Assessment of Sponsor" is 68 days and the second step is country-related. My VO (Visa Office) is going to be Damascus, Syria and Step 2, "Assessment of Person Being Sponsored (applicant)" in my case is 13 months ...

Let's talk and share ...

Good luck with everything.

I'll be jumping back and forth between dec and jan applicants thread as we mailed our dec 29 but it will be received in jan.

All the best in your wait... See you on the forum :)

Hi imatra! Hi alf+jlh ! Great! Now we have an international thread for January 2012! :)
Ill be sending our application on Jan 25 at the latest by courier so i hope to be part of this group. :)

68 days+ 10 months for our Visa office based on cic ( but based on average experience, 4 to 6 months) so crossing my fingers and praying hard.

good luck to all of us! Shout out to ladyR , come join us here! ;D

Hi alf+jlh, I thought we deserve our own thread ... but like you, I jump back and forth, trying to estimate time and to be ahead of game by using our other friends' experience in this forum.

Good luck to you too.

Hi Cxyvus,

I don't think there would be a problem, since as you said you are the sponsor. BUT, I am no expert and I might be wrong. I hope somebody else with more expertise answers your question here.

Hi All!

I am a January applicant as well! :) Good luck to you all! I (the sponsor) sent the application to Missassauga January 2nd and it was received January 6th. My husbands VO is Vienna, which has a waiting time of 9 months, but seems to be going through in about 3. I am a bit nervous though as I am not currently living in Canada, but had to prove my return upon approval. Fingers crossed. Let the waiting game begin! :)

Mississauga received our package today.

I know we have a full waiting game here but at least it started and we are in the system.

Im looking forward to waiting out this process with you guys.

Talk to you soon.

Amanda :)

Hello Gemini1, I would've been happy with 9 months, let alone 3 months! I was told (by other members here) that I should look at at least 16+ months, if I'm lucky and if nothing goes wrong. But I agree the whole thing could become nerve-wracking ... Best of Luck!

I know it's only the middle of Jan but there are only 6 of us in this thread!
I know there are more people out there applying but this might be a good sign for when they start processing our apps. I think the December applicants are a fairly small group too.... The processing times just went up today, hopefully after a month or so they will go back down!
