yes but that doesnt mean they will expedite visa process. people have missed sems due to not getting visa in time. they have the time frame for each visa office but sometime due to volume of applications it may take a bit more hence advised to apply well before the start of college start date.

Please read and respond. IS THIS a GOOD SOP. Suggestions are welcomed
To
The Visa officer,
Canadian High Commission,
Islamabad, Pakistan
Subject: Statement of Purpose (SOP) in support my visa application.
This is my letter to the Visa officer, explaining my purpose of visit to Canada, details on course and clarification of objections that were raised in my previous application for study permit. Today this is a well-known fact that a professional degree from a high ranked institute is a key to successful career. Keeping this fact and my deep interests in study I decided to pursue forward and have a four year Degree in Bachelors of Technology in Information Technology program from Kwantlen Polytechnique University in Canada.
• Why chosen Canada?
Of many countries in world I short listed Australia and Canada for the educational opportunities it offers to students and for their peaceful society. And finally after consulting my family and instructors I am convinced that Canada is a better option as it has developed a first-rate education system with high standards and global recognition. It is considered peaceful, safe and orderly country. Canadian culture is more diverse and vibrant.
Tuition fees and living expenses are also in favor of Canada when compared to other countries with equally good education system.
• Why Kwantlen Polytechnique university?
I’ve chosen to go with Kwantlen Polytechnique University because it is one of Canada's finest University, offering education that provides the knowledge and skills needed for success. It has a high ranking in overall student satisfaction. Moreover it has modern high-tech Campuses, an exceptional educational environment and extra-curricular activities. Its diversity of courses and Modern campuses attracted me and speaking to faculty and students satisfied me. Moreover it was on list of CIC’s participating institutes. Considering all these factors I decided to go for Kwantlen Polytechnique University.
• Why Bachelors of technology in information technology?
Working and dealing with computers has always been my passion. It’s something beyond explanation what I feel like when I’m dealing with computers. Since childhood I’ve been using computer but I was never satisfied with using any program or software. I always felt like if something was missing. I would think of many possible changes and improvements in programs and could do nothing at that time other than writing improvement feedbacks to companies with my suggestions which were mostly appreciated. As I grew my passion grew with me. I showed a remarkable interest and performance in subjects related to technology. In my grade 9 to 12 I found myself deeply interested in Mathematics and Physics (related to Information technology and telecommunication) and my grades and marks highlighted my interests. After my Grade 12 I ought that it was now time to get off the desk from just writing feedbacks and thinking of improvements in Computer programs. Rather it was time to do it by myself. And I decided to have a degree in Information technology and then start a career in relevant fields along with turning my dreams to reality. Although I had tried writing a few small programs and also a few of them were really good ones and appreciated by friends but I want to something big enough to attract the whole world and for that I decided to get education from a reputed institute with a well-recognized degree and Canada and Kwantlen together were the best option for that.
• “I.T” Benefits and Career potential:
Information technology is an essential for a country to grow and develop in 21st century and so is for Pakistan. With a rapid evolution of technology where everything is turning computerized, Pakistan too has realized the importance of I.T (information technology) and today it is taking initiatives to bring its institutions into era of 21st century and develop computerized and automatic systems and technology. Today we find the IT department as an essential part of almost every company and business. There are vast Career opportunities in this field in Pakistan but unfortunately we don’t have many institutes that could train students according to requirements of this modern era of technology. Canada on other hand has developed and done a lot in this field and is one of leading country in I.T, therefore graduating from Canada will not only equip me with a world recognized degree but also with the best knowledge to compete in world of technology.
• After my graduation from Kwantlen Polytechnique university:
As planed and instructed by family I’ll be back to Pakistan among my family and beloved one’s and then start a career with some company and then finally start my own software house. My application for September 2013 session was earlier rejected with reason stating:
“You have not satisfied me that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay”
I would like to clarify the visa officer that I do want to go to Canada for study but don’t intend to stay there permanently because first of all I don’t have any such intention and secondly I’m not allowed by my family to live in Canada permanently. All I want to go to Canada is for my graduation in Bachelors of information Technology. I’m a student who cleared his college (grade 12) in Sept.2012 and after that next steps is choosing a University and I’ve chosen mine in Canada. Once I qualify my degree there remains no purpose and no reason for me to stay in Canada. All of my family lives here in Pakistan and we have a joint family, where there is no such concept of living separate from family, Our family businesses and property and everything else is in Pakistan so there is no chance for me to stay away in Canada. I’m not sure what documentation is exactly required to assure visa officer that I will leave Canada after my Bachelor degree is completed. But I will like to assure Visa officer that my purpose of visit to Canada is to get a bachelor degree because in Pakistan there is a high demand of foreign qualifiers especially software engineers and programmers. And once my purpose is over I won’t have a reason to stay there. When I’ll come back after my degree completion I’ll have a vast opportunities in my degree related career for example: Software Engineer, Tele-Communication, Systems Analyst, Network Security Specialist, Network Administrator, Database Administrator, Health Informatics, Computer Tech Support, Web Developer and Webmaster and many more. And with my foreign/Canadian degree I’ll easily fit in a high paying job and will have preference over others who own Pakistani degree, but if I choose to stay in Canada I won’t have this opportunity because in Canada there are already too many people related to this field because Canada has stepped into world of information technology far earlier than Pakistan, so I won’t have any distinction over other Canadians but in Pakistan I will have a distinction due to my Canadian degree. So in brief the reasons for my returning back to homeland are numerous including vast career opportunities and high demand for foreign graduates, the family assets and above all my beloved Parents, Grandparents, Brothers and sister. And as far staying in Canada is concerned there is only one reason and that is to get a Bachelors degree of Information technology and this reason won’t last longer than four years so it means I’ll be back after my studies to join my family and to start a Practical Career I ever had dreamed of.
 Reason of previous application rejection and clarification to those objections:
My study permit application for September 2013 intake was rejected recently with reason mentioned below.
You have not satisfied me that you would leave Canada at end of your stay. In reaching this decision, I considered several factors:
• Your family ties in Canada and in your country of residence
• Length of proposed stay in Canada
• Purpose of visit
• Your Personal assets and financial status.
I’ve consulted my consultant and family about these objections to know what exactly these means and I’m answering these objections according to my understanding and knowledge.
Firstly I would brief my previous application profile:
University: Kwantlen Polytechnique University
Program: Computer information systems Diploma (2 year program)
(This program had an option of continuing it, after completion, in 3rd year of Bachelors of Technology in Information Technology program). I had chosen this program because study permit is usually valid for single entry and I had intentions to return back to my family after 2 years to spend time with them and then apply and continue in 3rd year of Bachelors of Technology in Information Technology degree program and then finally return back to Pakistan with a four year degree and start my career here. This was what I planned earlier. I wanted to visit my family after 2 years because I think living without family is a hard task and I’ve never lived away from family ever. I didn’t write an SOP last time and it was my mistake. My study permit application was rejected. I assume it may be due to 2 year diploma program so I switched to complete degree program.
• Family ties in Canada and country of residence:
As far as my family ties are concerned I’ve strong ties in Pakistan. My whole family resides here in Pakistan. I live along with my grandparents, my mother my father and brothers, (sister is married). If this objection is about family members then all my family members live here in Islamabad in Pakistan. I, my mother, father, brothers and grandparents and sister have strong ties with each other. If this is about business then my family have well settled businesses here in Pakistan. My grandfather is an investor who make investments in property and is financially quite strong and stabled. My father too is an investor and invests in Autos and have big share in my Uncle’s Car showroom. Apart from joint family property and business my father own 25 acres of agricultural land in Sialkot and a dairy form. I mentioned all this I order to show financial status of my family. And when talking about family ties in Canada, I don’t have any family or family member in Canada so how can I have ties? I would like to inform visa officer that there are absolutely no family ties of mine in Canada. If some distant relatives lives in Canada then we don’t have any concerns with them. They are neither my family members and nor do they have any ties with me. My whole family lives in Pakistan with me. I will be living as a paying guest with some Canadian family as Kwantlen Polytechnique University doesn’t have hostels. Kwantlen University is affiliated with First Choice International Placement Inc. This institute is responsible for residence of international students and make them stay as paying guest with Canadian families. I had paid them $1075 in fees which include there service charges and $760 monthly charges. These monthly charges include two meals and residence and other services e.g. internet etc. (Invoice is attached, and profile of a host family is also given according to my requirements.)
• Length of proposed stay:
As far as I understand this objection was about two year diploma program. And I explained above why I had chosen that. But this time I had chosen a four year degree program and I’m requesting a study permit for same duration of time. I mentioned starting and ending dates of my course in my application form and I request visa officer for a study permit to be issued for same duration of time.
• Purpose of visit:
I’m not sure what does this objection exactly meant. But as far my visit to Canada is concerned, it is for study purpose. That is why I’m applying for a study permit. My sole purpose of visit to Canada is to get a Degree in Bachelors of technology in information technology program. There is no other reason for this visit. And I intend to stay in Canada temporarily for a duration of four years only (because my course is a four years degree program).
Here I would like to clear one thing about my application which may have caused confusion, in application form 1294E (page 3) I have written my current education level as Post-Secondary. This must be noted that this level of education is according to Pakistani education system where High/Secondary school is up to grade 10 and Grade 11 & 12 is termed as Intermediate. My highest level of education is Grade 12 which in Canadian/international standards is termed as Secondary School. So according to Kwantlen University and Canadian education standards my highest level of education is Secondary School. I have mentioned Post-Secondary in my application form according to Pakistani/local standards.
• Your Personal assets and financial status:
If this objection is about my personal assets the I would like to clarify that I’m a full time, non-working student and I’m completely dependent on my family for my expenses. I don’t own any property or business personally. It is something that is completely handled by my elders. Note that in my previous application I have mentioned my occupation as a private employee on instructions of my consultants. If this is something that is causing confusion then I would like to clarify that this job was as a CSR at a United Kingdom based call center. This was not an actually job. It was meant to improve my English language skills (speaking and listening) because speaking English with native English people is best way to improve accent and pronunciation. And I had totally declared my reason to the employer. Because after completion of my grade 12 my main focus was on English language studies. I tried making my point clear up to my knowledge and provided all documents required. And if any further information or clarification is needed I would be very happy to answer any question and provide details or documentation via any method visa officer likes (interview, email or mail).
In end I would request visa officer to grant me study permit so that I can continue my studies and join January 2014 semester. And I would be highly thankful for that.

hey ,

it shouldn't be that much . it should be only one page and you have to give them a specific points.............

in this page you should show them :

- why did you choose Canada (( in two to 4 lines ))
- why did you choose this major
- why you would come back to your home country (( you should show them that you have personal assets like home , car or anything at you home country ))
- who will be you sponsor in Canada

I think you write between 12 to 18 lines only and you will be fine.

- I did apply to student visa using online application in Abu dabi and I did the same thing .
