Hello All,

Could someone please confirm me what does "Continuous" stands for in the CIC question: "It must have been continuous, paid, full-time (or an equal amount in part-time), and in only one occupation."

I have worked in company A for 23 months and then there is a break of 12 months before I worked in company B for another 23 months. So could someone please confirm my work experience will be considered of how many years? Work-wise it was same in both companies.

i.e 1 year,or 2 year, or 3 year or more?

Will appreciate the expert advice here.

Thanks!!

I think that after continuous 12 months, your experience equals your cumulative experience provided they both are in same NOC

If your work was done full time in both jobs you have 3 years or more experience now. and you satisfy the one year continuous work

You need at least 1 year of continuous paid full time (or equivalent part time) work experience within the last 10 years (FSW, anywhere except Canada) or last 3 years (CEC, in Canada) in the same NOC 0/A/B to have basic program eligibility.

Once you meet basic program eligibility, the rest of your experience can be in other NOCs and discontinuous and you'll still be credited for that. In your case, you meet the basic eligibility requirement and you'll be credited with 46 months of work experience.

Sorry for reopening the old topic.

Continuous means, there should be no gap in one year?

Like 6 months in one company and 3 day gap (holidays) then another 7 month in another company is acceptable?

1st Company - 10 Nov 2010 - 06 May 2011;

Gap - 07 may 2011 - 9 May 2011 (These three days are holidays)

2nd Company - 10 Nov 2011 - 30 Dec 2011

In my Opinion
It's not about whether you changed jobs during a holiday or on a weekend. It's that you disqualify the job continuity clause.

Put it another other way, you were jobless (unpaid) for 3 days, what if they were holidays.

Whereas if you had quit on Day X and joined another job on Day (X+1) you were never without a paid job even for a day, and IRCC is fine with that.

Hope that clarifies.

Thank you for your reply. I am not sure what's the right here. I saw another member have same situation as me and he did get PR. So, I am confused now.

Anyway please do apply as you can't change anything about a historical fact.

So all the Best...and hope you too get PR.
