Hi all,

I heard that self-employment does not count CEC. Is this true?

I am working in the IT field under my corporation name. I am sole proprietor and withdrawing my salary as dividends.

  • My employers decide hours of work and provides me with computers and necessary equipment’s
  • I have specific set of duties every day (Provided by employer).
  • Have invoices Monthly
  • My employer is ready to give letters saying the number of hours worked, pay, and job duties

  • I am looking for suggestions from successful applications with similar profile.

  • Any leads would be appreciated

Yes, I am on open work permit.
I didn't know a temporary resident could incorporate a business in Canada.

About the self-employment experience, see https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/express-entry/eligibility/canadian-experience-class.html.

It sounds like you're an incorporated employee or Personal Service Business. I'm not sure if there could be any exception for your situation or not. It might be worth it to have a consultation with a lawyer.
