Med's Request

Hi

I have already applied for a permanent residency in Canada. I had already done the medicals and got a passport request in August 2012. However, my wife was pregnant at that time and the doctor advised not to travel in the last trimester. We also thought that settling down in Canada and finding a new doctor and all is riskier in the last trimester. So I sent a request to defer the passport request through my attorney. Now I have resubmitted my documents again by adding my newborns to the application and waiting for her medicals to come.

Meanwhile, my H1B is expiring shortly, but it doesn't seem like the PR will be granted before my H1b expires. I was thinking of an option to come to Canada work work. However, I am not sure if there are any IT firms who will sponsor work permit for people currently in US.

If anyone knows abot any IT companies that will do this, could you please share the names of the companies. Your response is highly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

It's extremely difficult to find IT employers in Canada. Since there are make qualified Canadians with these skills, it's very hard to obtain an approved LMO (employer can't hire the foreign worker without the approved LMO).

Your only real option is to try applying to open positions and hope you get lucky.

I would definitely have a plan B. I think the chances of securing a position in Canada are unfortunately very low.

At this point I would wait until you have PR status in Canada. It will be much easier to find a job then.
