I am in Serbia right now, from Canada and I thought I had everything prepared properly to get married.
Turns out the lady in the city hall here does not believe that the short form birth certificate I have is a real birth certificate!
Because it doesn't look like the Statement of Live Birth (which is not a birth certificate!) she has on file for some child born in Canada to Serbian parents.
Trying to solve this issue now...because I also have divorced parents and have 0 info on my father to write down in the application for a long form birth certificate. I have never met him and my mother is not providing any info.
Anyone encounter this before?
Is this going to be an issue of Short Form v.s. Long Form Birth certificates when we apply for sponsorship too?
