We are applying for a spousal sponsorship for my PR. My spouse is now a Canadian citizen, and I am a Turkish citizen. However, one of the required documents from my country still shows my marital status as single, because we have not yet updated it through the Turkish consulate.
My spouse does not have a Turkish ID card or passport. In order to update the record at the consulate, she would first need to apply for identification, and this process is quite long.
I am concerned whether this document showing me as single will affect my PR application. We got married in Canada and have our marriage certificate, as well as many other proofs of our relationship.
