ISP certification process

Hello everyone,

I have my CELPIP scores and WES course by course evaluation. One of the step to obtain ISP certification is become a CIPS member, so I paid CIPS membership fee and today I received a mail from CIPS telling that current processing times are 10 months.

Please let me know if anyone applied for ISP certification in recent times?

I am new to this. I am an IT professional (software developer to be precise). So can someone provide me with insight on CELPIP? Does this help in CRS ranking or PNP nomination program?
How do I get started on CELPIP? Any exams to take in particular?

It looks like CIPS is processing is so slow. I think applicants can pressure SINP and the CIPS to address this issue.
