Hi everyone,

I have completed my study in January 7, 2013 and started job right away from 8th January but I have received my post graduate work permit on 25th February, 2013.

So my question is that whether my work between 7th January, 2013 and 25th February, 2013 will count in experience in Canadian experience class or not?

BTW in that I was working on off campus work permit.

Please can anybody provide me information regarding this as it is very urgent?

Work experience gained on on- or off-campus wps can't be counted towards cec experience.

Also refer to this: http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/is-work-experience-counted-on-study-permit-going-to-work-permit-t161552.0.html

Next time use the search function first, someone else might've asked the question before
and it's already been answered.

Section 9.11 “Work experience” provides that the work experience must have been acquired after obtaining the Canadian educational credential. Pre-graduate work experience is not recognized, including “work performed under the Off-Campus Work Permit Program or on a co-op work term
if work on valid off campus after study will count as per op25a section 9.11 of cic for cec

Hi,

thanks everyone for information.

and Sameer,

It does not written in the section 9.11 of Op25 eng that "the work under off campus work permit after completing study is count in CEC" so can you provide me the link where I can find this information accurately. actually I am very confused and tensed and dont want to take chance so asking.

My work permit and temporary residence permit is expiring in 25th February, 2013, so can I put PR file in CEC after that periodif I complete 1 year of experience before 25th february?

For a student who had graduated from a Canadian post-secondary institution, only work
experience gained after graduation will count towards meeting the work experience
requirement (e.g. post-graduate work permit).

Section 6.3 Full-time work: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/op/op25A-eng.pdf

You need to meet these requirements to apply under the Canadian Experience Class. You must:

  • plan to live outside the province of Quebec
  • have at least 12 months of full-time (or an equal amount in part-time) skilled work experience in Canada in the three years before you apply,
  • have gained your experience in Canada with the proper authorization
  • meet the required language levels needed for your job for each language ability (speaking, reading, writing, and listening).

Hope this helps. You need 12 months of full-time skilled work experience in the three years before your application.
Neither do you need to be in Canada to apply, nor do you have to be employed. But you have to have gained your
experience on a valid work permit.

Outdated, as they're still mentioning two immigration streams.
That's CICs official operation manual: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/op/op25A-eng.pdf

Since January 2013 there is only one immigration stream in CEC.
