We are applying outland. I see on alot of forums that each person in the application (in our case it is just the 2 of us) are writing their own versions of developement of relationship or in other words an essay about their relationship. As far as I know the application only asks that question on the sponsored spouse form. Is it necessary for each of us to write one or is it just a choice other people are making to include both. I do not see it on the sponsored spouse questionaire.

There's no need to include two relationship write-ups. We only included one in my husband's application and his end-to-end processing time was four months.

It's not required for you both to write, some just like adding it in for another bit of evidence that the relationship is genuine (hearing from each couple about the relationship developing). In mine my fiance and I didn't even write "essays", as you'd put it. I wrote a detailed timeline of our relationship starting from our first meeting and up to when I submitted our application.

Thanks to both of you!!!

Yeah I didnt write it an essay style...I actually did it in point form highlighting the important events

Same as in case of 50 Shades of Grey - it was tiring enough to read just one side of the story, read it now also from the other end makes it definitely too much :)
