Hi everyone,

My husband applied for a Canadian visitor visa to come for the birth of our baby in February. I’m a PR living in Montreal, currently 6 months pregnant. He does not plan on moving to Canada.

He lives in France. They only asked for:
  • Passport + national ID
  • French residence permit (titre de séjour)
He submitted:
  • Passport + national ID
  • French residence permit (titre de séjour)
  • Proof of funds (around CAD 10,000 for a 2-month stay)
  • Proof of his property ownership in France (a 1 bedroom apartment)
  • My PR card + hospital letter confirming my pregnancy
  • Our wedding certificate
He has a travelled a lot for work. So in the background check, there's over 30 trips in the past 5 years (Europe, the U.S., and Africa).

He’s self-employed, so there’s no employer letter. IRCC didn’t ask for any employment or business information just the passport, ID, and proof of funds.

Do you think this is enough to show strong ties to his country of residence (France), or should we should upload additional documents?

Thanks!

I see no ties to return. Property is not a tie unless income so show tenancy agreement. In fact, I only see ties for him not to leave Canada (Your PR card, wedding certificate, pregnancy, 2 month stay). $10k cash is usually enough for a 2-3 week visit. If he has valid US visa, he may be processed faster.
