Hello Friends,

I landed in Toronto on 7th April 2010, and I wasnt sure about goods to follow
so when officer asked me any goods to follow by courier... well i said NO..!!
coz i decided to purchase few things from canada
Later on when I couldnt find other household stuff according to my taste
I shipped from india, all the things I was using in India ( like personal, spices stuff n all)
After that

I got call from FEDEX that Canadian custom holding my stuff for Tax purposes
I am not having anything for selling purpose ....
I am a new immigrant and thats for my personal use
They didnt listen to me and said either u approach to customs or we will do it for u
and charges will be CAD 20 extra for our services + Canadian custom charges
( Which is 150+ CAD according FEDEX...just tax.)

I told FEDEX to deliver as it was only CAD 20 extra they were charging,
but please provide me invoice from the customs taxes
Because I cant find job so far and I am attanding a workshop by local college to
help new immigrants to join the mainstream and work place culturen alll

I just got the receipt describing all taxes according to
the items varies from $1 to $ 4.50 ( sum$ 176.47) on FEDEX invoice
They charged taxes on old stuff as well

Is there anyway I can speak to Canadian customs or any authority about this ??????

Why? you said you didn't have any goods to follow, so when these goods arrived, they were not tax and duty free. Even with a GTF list, you probably would have to pay on them since they were not "used"

You did not hand in a goods to follow list so I think you are out of luck.
