You can't ask your application status until 6 weeks are lapsed to your application after reaching CIO. for any query about your application you can mail here and they reply in 10-20 days.

How to Contact the Centralized Intake Office
If you are a Skilled Worker applicant and you have a request for case information you may contact the Client Service Unit of the Central Intake Office. If you applied within the last six weeks, the CSU will not respond to your enquiry.

You will not receive a reply to your email if:
you have not already applied as a federal skilled worker
you are not authorized to receive personal information
you applied within the last six weeks
your enquiry concerns any other topic.

Please do not send the same enquiry more than once. You can reach the CSU at

FSW‑Sydney‑Search‑Enquiry@cic.gc.ca.

You can...A pretty easy trick (if thats what you can call it)...
Check your Bank if the Demand Draft has been cashed or not, or if you paid with Credit Card check statement. IF they have cashed it then you entered the CAP....If not then time to bite nails and wait.....

BUT if you sent application in October and the CAP is now around 500 you should be safe.

What is the date of them receiving the Application, as that is the most important thing, in considering CAP, rather than when you sent it.

My application of NOC 3131 reached there by 7th nov 2011. I have same doubt which you have. Did they encash your payment? I am still waiting for the encashment.
